Who am I?

I am the girl who laughs while she meditates…

Seriously though, in this photo I was connecting to my guides and as usual they where making me laugh. I think spirituality is supposed to be fun. We came to earth to experience joy! I want to show you just how fun connecting to your intuition can be. It doesn’t have to be boring!

My name is Sofia Araya. I was born and raised in Santiago, Chile but currently live in Los Angeles, California. Interior designer by trade, spiritual teacher by blood I couldn’t keep ignoring the nod to move my business into spirituality. Inshala Design was born as a spiritual interior design company but turned out to be so much more than that. (Check out the blog for the name origin) I absolutely LOVE what I do and when I teach or hold space for my clients I know I am exactly where I am supposed to be.

This is probably all you need to know but if you want to know more about me, keep reading below…

I grew up under a soul-seeking, Reiki-practicing, tarot-reading mom. Though I respected her "woo-woo" ways— honestly way out there and at times kind of wacky —I never thought it was for me. It wasn’t until suffering from anxiety and other not so comfortable stuff—that my real journey with spirituality began. It happened when my psychiatrist told me that I was never going to get to the root of my problem. In my mind I could hear the Elle Woods inside me saying: " Oh, yeah, watch me." I had seen the benefits of alternative therapies first hand my whole life so I KNEW that there was something else. I dabbled in angel cards, read all the mandatory self-help books (Marianne Williamson, Louise Hay, Gabrielle Bernstein), and began a regular meditation practice.  I became a certified Reiki practitioner, Intuitive Healer, and Akashic records reader…all while working in LA as an interior designer.

After earning my design degree at one of Chile’s highest-ranked universities and working with a Chilean architect/interior designer for three years, the opportunity to come back to LA presented itself. (Since the first day I stepped into Lalaland as an eight-year old, I’ve thought of LA as my home.) Here I worked for an amazing interior design firm until I finally decided to follow all the signs jump and hoped the universe would catch me. Today, I am lucky enough to not only live my dream combining my passions but also meeting new people and coaching them towards happier lives. (Pinch me!)
